Since the successful completion of the “Plastic Bag Free Alonissos” project the residents of Alonissos have achieved a great "victory" against plastic, pioneering to drastically reduce plastic carrier bags, while setting a good example for other islands. So, now, it's time to celebrate this success with a super photo contest focusing on marine litter and awarding amazing prizes!
All residents and visitors of Alonissos are invited to take part in the contest titled “Shoot the litter” by taking pictures, while “artistically” showcasing marine litter they have spotted, and then collected. The “Plastic Bag Free” Coordinating Committee of the Municipality of Alonissos will evaluate and award the prizes.
Duration of the photo contest: 1/4/2018-24/4/2018
A few days before the contest’s deadline, on the 21st & 22nd of April, organised beach and seabed cleaning activities will inspire contestants to take unique photos and act in favour of the environment while conveying an important message through this symbolic action.
Τhe awards:
1. A GoPro Hero5 action camera, offered by Τhalassa Foundation
2. Four free-of charge diving courses, offered by the following dive centers in Alonissos: Alonissos Blue Dream Dive Center, Alonissos Seacolours Dive Center, Alonissos Triton Dive Center, Ikion Diving
3. Free-of-charge participation for 2 persons in a daily scientific expedition for monitoring marine life in the Northern Sporades, onboard MOm’s research vessel, accompanied by experts and biologists of the organization.
