2nd ODYSSEA Summer School

The 2nd ODYSSEA Summer School was held succesfully on Alonnissos, 2-6 of September 2019, with the participation of 20 postgratuate students from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Philippines, Cyprus and Greece. The event was co-organised in partnership with the School of Biology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Democritus University of Thrace, and with the support of the Thalassa Foundation.

The participants were introduced to the use of the ODYSSEA platform, the interconnection between oceanographic, environmental and fisheries data as well as between ecological and oceanographic models. Furthermore, they participated in fieldwork at the Alonissos North Sporadic Marine Park on oceanographic and environmental data collection, marine mammal observation and fishing fleet sampling.
