Open discussion in Alonnisos on the protection of the National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern Sporades

Thalassa Foundation and MOm/Hellenic Society for the Study and Protection of the Monk Seal are organising an open discussion in Alonnisos titled “Fisheries and Patrolling at the National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern Sporades – Current situation and future prospects”.

The event will take place on Friday 9th  November at 18:00 at the events hall of the Municipality of Alonnisos

At the event, the research team of the Laboratory of Ichthyology of the School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki will present their research “Fisheries, Fish stocks and the fleet in Alonnisos”.

MOm/Hellenic Society for the Study and Protection of the Monk Seal will present its research on the quality of sea water and Posidonia oceanica. Furthermore, the NGO will present the results from the Patrolling project of the NMPANS, that is being implemented by the Managing Body of the NMPANS, in collaboration with the port authorities and under the sponsorship of Thalassa Foundation and MOm.

Vera Alexandropoulou, Vice-president of THALASSA Foundation will coordinate the discussion on future prospects and actions to protect the environment of the island.
